Staff, artifact (requires attunement by a Requires attunement by a druid, ranger or cleric of the nature domain. )

A staff blessed by Karametra herself, this staff is as beautiful as the goddess herself, a simple yet radiant staff. It is a straight wooden carved staff with different assortments of flora and fungi growing within the staff and sprouting outwards. 

Burning the Staff:

The staff can be lit by any fire source strong enough to light a candle, producing one of four effects chosen by the staffs attuned wielder. The effects last for 5 minutes in a 60ft radius around the staff. After the effect fades, the staff is the same in shape but the outer wood is charred and the plants that sprouted outwards retreat into the center of the staff. It takes the staff 1d4 days to regrow and be able use this feature again. 

Mella's Sweetness:

 The air around the staff becomes as sweet smelling as the purest honey a radiance of safety, softness, healing and rest. The caster can select each creature in the radius to receive these effects:

  • The creature(s) affected gain 1d4 hitpoints per round of combat.
  • If a creature starts a long rest under these effects, they have a full rest in 6 hours as opposed to 8.
  • Each creature in the radius has all effects of exhaustion lifted while they are under the effects of the staff.

Cadaver Illium:

The air around the staff becomes abhorrent as the scent of rotting corpses fills the air, radiating a sense of death, depravity, decay and poison. The caster can select each creature in the radius to receive these effects:

  • The creature(s) affected1d4 points of poison damage per round of combat.
  • Every creature affected must succeed on a DC 13 constitution saving throw or become poisoned while they are in the staff's radius.
  • If a creature starts sleeping under these effects, they must succeed on a dc 15 constitution saving throw or take 5d20 poison damage. They have a 50% chance to wake up after taking the damage. If the creature continues sleeping, and is exposed to the staff for another 3 minutes, it takes the damage again and wakes up. 

Memoria Gardenia: 

 The air around the staff starts to smell like a fond distant memory flooding, radiating feelings of love, nostalgia, yearning, and in some cases, sex. The caster can select each creature in the radius to receive these effects:

  • Every creature affected must succeed on a DC 14 wisdom saving throw or become charmed while they are in the staff's radius. This effect repeats every round and the DC increases by 1 every 3 rounds of combat.
  • If a creature starts sleeping under these effects, the caster can influence their minds, influencing their dreams into whatever they wish. 
  • The caster can cast suggestion without spell slots on any creature under its charming effect once per minute of use.

Inusitus Calycanthus

The air around the staff begins to smell of many random scents, fading in and out and mingling with each other before fading, radiating feelings of chaos, uncertainty, bedlam, and ambivalence prodding the mind of the affected to expand. 

  • Every creature affected who is able to cast spells regains a spell slot 5 spell slots below the maximum, minimum of one. This effect repeats every 2 minutes.
  • Every creature affected has a 10% chance to become overwhelmed and confused, and attack the creature nearest to them.
  • Creatures affected have advantage on skill checks that rely on intelligence, as well as a base +2 to their intelligence score. In addition, if a creature sleeps under these effects, they will wake up with these effects lingering until the next time they take a long rest.
