If it were not for the owner of this piece, it would make for a wonderful addition to any home or hovel. This silvery mirror is framed in ornate brass, depicting a smiling woman at the top with her wild, billowing falling down the sides of it. Peering into the reflection of the glass reveals an incantation that is written in Deep Speech. The phrase reads:
"Gaze upon thy mirror,
so thou can see much clearer,
as I creep much nearer,
thou pretty Toe-Stealer".-Toe-Stealer
Upon reciting this incantation, the one to read it is thrust through reality and is able to "scry" as per the spell scrying. Once this property has been used by any creature, the mirror cannot be used again this way for 24 hours.
Cursed. Upon using Toe-Stealer's mirror, the creature that recites incantation or is within 10 feet of the piece when its activated must make a Sanity saving throw of DC 15 or suffer a bout of long term madness, as they see the beautiful maiden depicted at the peak of the mirrors frame suddenly shift to Toe-Stealer's visage. In addition, those who fail the Sanity saving throw adopt the same horrific face. For the next [roll]1d8[/roll] hour/s you have disadvantage on persuasion and deception checks and advantage on intimidation checks.
