This staff has 15 charges. While holding it, you can use an action to expend 1 or more of its charges (max 7 charges) and choose a target that is adjacent to you. For one minute, non-weapon damage the target takes is reduced by an amount equal to the number of charges expended.

When you expend the last charge, the large purple spherical gem atop the staff crumbles, rendering the staff useless.
