This potted plant is leafless and charred, with soot coating the ceramic that holds it. The soil that houses it has become arid and littered with droplets of glass.

Every hour, on the hour, the plant is struck by a localized bolt of lightning. No damage is inflicted to objects above it, but that doesn't make the lightning any less real.

Thunder emanates from it every time it is struck, able to be heard up to 300ft away. And creatures within 5ft of the plant must make a DC15 DEX Saving throw, on a fail they take the full 3d10 lightning damage, on a success: only half.

Spells, Magic Items, or Checks can determine that the plant is still in fact alive.
