The Wayward Wayfinder is a magical compass and it is often found in the possession of vicious sea dogs, pirates or privateers. Whenever you find it, it is already attuned to a treasure or magical item.

The Item has 10 charges. While holding the compass, you can cast one of the following Spells from it:

Locate Object (2 Charges),

Locate Creature (4 Charges),

Find the Path (6 Charges)

By whispering the command words "Where to now, my darling?" in Aquan or Elvish, you can cast the Find the Path spell from it at will, except the target is always the item the compass is attuned to. If the target is a treasure hoard and items have been separated from each other, the compass will guide you to the single most valuable item in that hoard. After that, it will guide you to the next most valuable item. This process can be repeated until all of the treasure is recovered.

The Wayward Wayfinder can attune to a treasure hoard worth up to 500.000 gp or any single magical item that is rare or rarer. If you try to attune the item to a new treasure or magical item, it loses whatever attunement it had previously.

Curse: This item is cursed. Attuning to it extends the curse to the user, and this curse can only be removed by a Greater Restoration spell or similar magic. Whenever you find a piece of treasure that was attuned to the compass but not by you, roll a D20. On a result of 5 or lower, the treasure piece you found vanishes into the most inconvenient of players (DM's choise). The treasure never travels more than 10 miles in this way. After the treasure piece disappears, the Wayward Wayfinder cannot attune to a new treasure and will not point to another item.

Notes: Yout can take one hour to attune the wayward wayfinder to a treasure hoard (gold, jewels, art pieces, etc) worth at least 10.000 gp or to a rare or rarer magical item. Yout must be within 5 ft of the treasure to attune the wayward wayfinder to it in this way, Cursed
