Once upon a time, there was a court Jester. He was famed for his ability to emotionally destroy anyone in the court. However, at the end of his career, he took it too far for the kings liking. The princess, an unsophisticated and gangly, all left feet, tripped down the stairs at her unveiling to the court. The jester immediately played a small musical limerick he named "Nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah". The look on the kings face said it all. He would not live to see tomorrow. He stole himself away to a small room and used his magic to implant a little of his... Ability, into his violin. He had always been a bard but had discovered during his teaching, sorcerers blood ran through his veins. Now, with this lute, a bard may instantly know the limerick and use it to cast "Counterspell" up to 3 times at the second highest level of magic they can wield.
