Weapon (longsword), rare (requires attunement by a Requires attunement by a creature of non-lawful alignment)

A Katana born from the blood of the great wyrm Argynvost, Champion of the Silver Nightfall.
The monstrous crimson blade appears almost black as midnight and grows ever darker after each foe felled.

The blade always feels cold to the touch and whispers promises of boons in return for the blood of its wielder

As a bonus action the wielder can invoke a forbidden rite of hemocraft that infuses your weapon strikes with frost.  The effect of the rite lasts until you finish a short or long rest. When you activate a rite, you take necrotic damage equal to 1d6 die. This damage can’t be reduced in any way.

While the rite is in effect, attacks you make with this weapon are magical, and deal 1d4 extra cold damage.

The intensity of the rite can be increased by feeding the blade the blood of powerful slain foes.

 

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
