This crossbow has been upgraded with a special Spool and Line system that lets it fire a bolt a distance of 30ft to attach to the side of a building. The line is made with a special weave of steel and hemp rope that allows up to two Medium sized creatures or three Small sized creatures to be held up by it.
It does not have an automatic retraction mechanism. To fully retract the spool it requires a creature to spend an action.
Proficiency with a Hand Crossbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
