Wondrous Item, very rare

This yellow string is part of a six piece set. It is said each string holds the will of the Great Fairy Prince, Puck who worked against his parents to protect humanity during the Cataclysm. Some say Puck was the first bard and would play melodies using the six strings that would entrance even the Arch Fey themselves.

The Yellow String is unique from its sibling chords as it consumes charges through the user's spell slots. For each spell slots above first level, an extra person can be targeted. After strumming this chord, roll 2d4+3. This is how many days it will take to use this string's ability again.

The Yellow String: When played, the wielder connects themselves and those around them by a spiritual tether. This tether inherently connects the user and one other of their choosing within 10ft of them to the Astral plane, sending an astral projection of themselves to the desired location within the sea. Those connected by this tether can also be brought to the same plane. If the person does not wish to be joined spiritually in this way, they must make a Charisma saving throw against the user's spell save DC. Once connected, the following occurs:

  1. The caster's body as well as anyone tethered by the chord become immobile and fall into a meditative state. During this time, those tethered fall under the spell effects of Astral Projection
  2. You and your allies have advantage on Perception and Investigation checks involving finding doorways to other planes of existence.
  3. Any Insight checks towards beings in the Astral Sea are done so with advantage.
  4. Stealth checks made to avoid the sight of Astral Dreadnaughts are done at disadvantage as the yellow chord sheds a tantalizing light for such voracious creatures.
