A large rosebud that appears to be about to bloom.
As an action speak the activation phrase to cause it to bloom. When it does, thorns sprout from the bottom as well, piercing your skin. Roll any number of your hit dice, instead of healing, you take that much damage.
While you continue to hold the Rose, any number of your allies may use a bonus action pluck a petal from the rose. When plucked, a petal will bestow an effect on the ally that heals one quarter the number of dice the owner sacrificed at the beginning of the ally's turn for a number of turns equal to the owner's hit die. Once a creature benefits from this effect, they cannot benefit from it again until they have completed a long rest.
For example: if someone with a d8 hit die took 8d8 damage, each petal taken bestows 2d8 hit points each round, for 1d8 turns.
