So I've been playing a barbarian and trying to embrace the fun, but their AC is better when NOT wearing hide armor, which is the worst armor in the game - and also the only armor I really want to wear because it's so classically barbarian, and the only armor I feel was included with barbarians in mind (except for the baffling mechanics of this being a medium armor). As a workaround I've had the armor in inventory and don't equip it on the sheet so I can stay true to the Conan feel while ignoring how singularly terrible this armor is: all the disadvantages of medium armor but the same base AC as light studded leather. I'm thinking of either making a custom "barbarian hide" item for it or just having it as my clothing. Anyone do anything useful with Hide, or have suggestions?

I came here wondering the same thing - why wear this when I could just wear Studded Leather... No max dex on Studded, same base AC, counts as light for all characters (especially rogues, rangers, and barbs). And agreed - Barbs and Monks have more AC wearing robes than any armor. Very strange. And DDB is very unforgiving when it comes to trying to make special exceptions.
