Windreader is an immaculate recurve bow fletched from the heartwood of a spirit tree, which reside in only the deepest, most guarded glades of sacred woods. It hums with magical energy and fills its wielder with confidence.
Once per day, you may use a 2nd-level spell slot to unlock the sacred energy of the spirit tree from which the bow was crafted. For 8 hours, the bow requires no ammunition. Instead, drawing the string produced an arrow of pure light. These arrows deal Radiant damage instead of the normal piercing. The damage increases to 1d10.
You may also use their Bonus action to spend a 1st level spell slot and do one of the following:
- Deal an extra 1d10 damage.
- For 1d4 rounds, you add half your proficiency bonus to Windreader's damage.
- On hit, the target makes a Strength check against DC of 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier. If they fail, they are moved 15 feet away from you. If this movement is ended by another creature or object, both take an extra 1d6 damage.
Proficiency with a Longbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
