Weapon (rapier), legendary (requires attunement by a The blade must taste the blood of the wielder. A scratch is sufficient, followed by the successful completion of a long rest. )

Part of a set of rapiers forged by an ancient smith, THORN is a beautiful rapier with Dully Reflective Enchanted Bronze thin, double-edged Blade set into a Cross-guard and Basket Hilt of Green Mithril twisted vines, thorns, and leaves. The Blade absorbs blood stains and will slowly lap up blood puddles, turning a slightly reddish hue until a short rest. The Pommel is an oiled and polished ‘ball’ of Firethorn, a plant known for the sharpest thorns. The Scabbard is made of magically grown Firethorn carved with leaf, vine, and thorn motifs. The matching blade is known as ROSE but has not been seen for almost a century.

You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

You can use an action and utterance of the Elvish word, Akanthos to cause a thick, black poison known as Assassin's Blood to coat the blade. The poison remains for 1 minute or until an attack using this weapon hits a creature. That creature must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or take 2d12  poison damage and become poisoned until the next dawn. Thorn's poison ability can only be used twice until the next dawn.

Additionally, if the wielder pierces their hand with the pommel stone as a bonus action, they are able to use a full action to cast a SLOW spell. The spell can affect up to 6 targets within a 40' centered on the wielder. The spell requires a successful DC16 Wisdom save to avoid the effect. Regardless of the spell's success, Thorn's wielder takes 1d4 points of piercing damage.

Proficiency with a Rapier allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
