The staff is made of a dark hardwood. The staff grants the wearer the ability to cast the spell Slow on a single target without material components twice per long rest, using the caster's own spell save DC. The staff also does an extra 1d4 thunder damage on hit. The affected target feels sluggish, like they have just eaten an extra-large helping... of dumplings!
The staff regains its charges after the player takes a long rest. The player learns of the staff's properties, but not that it is cursed, after attunement or the Identify spell is cast on it.
Curse: Once the player attunes to the staff, the staff gives the player an unnatural hunger for dumplings.
