This beautifully crafted white guqin (7-stringed zither) embossed with silver clouds floats at waist-height in front of its player and moves with them. You can use this instrument as an arcane focus. While attuned to this item, you know the fatal chord cantrip. 

The zither has 3 charges. Expended charges are regained after a long rest. You may expend one charge to cast calm emotions or two charges to cast speak with dead. When casting these spells in this way, they gain the following additional benefits.

Calm the restless dead. When you cast calm emotions using the zither, you can target undead as well as humanoids.

Lying is forbidden. When you cast speak with dead using the zither, the corpse you speak with must succeed on a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure, it is compelled to speak truthfully. You know whether it is compelled or not.
