Weapon (longsword), artifact (requires attunement by a requires attunement during a long rest. Must have 14 or higher in both Dexterity and Intelligence)

Yamato is a large katana with a dark-forged blade, longer than the japanese blade, with a gold guard. The Tsuka ("handle") has the traditional gold wrapping, with black ornaments, and the Tsuba ("guard") is octagonal. The blade features several intricate ornaments, most notable is a relief of a dragon at the endpoint of the hilt. The scabbard is black, made of traditional lacquered wood, and features several metallic ornaments on its far end. It also features a golden sageo, the cord used to tie the katana to the waist.

After being attuned to this weapon, it will whisper into your mind, teaching you a skill that can only be performed by this weapon. The Judgment Cut. 

Proficiency with a longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it. 

Damage. This longsword deals additional 1d4 necrotic damage on a hit. 

Level 1 

Dark Slayer: While attuned, this weapon acts as a magic weapon, gaining +2 to both attack and damage rolls. 

Bonded Weapon: Yamato can be summoned at will. This requires a bonus action. 

Judgment Cut: counts as an action, and uses the same attack die as your basic attack. You may attack even if a target is beyond your reach, up to 60 feet away. Use your action to make a ranged spell attack, using your Dexterity as your spellcasting ability. On a hit, you deal 3d6 force damage. 

The Judgment Cut can only be performed up to 5 times, and recharges fully on a long rest, or by 1 on a short rest 

On a NAT 20 on the d20, all creatures within 15 feet of the target of this attack take the same amount of damage as the target. 

Level 2 

Summoned Swords: As an action, you summon 4 floating glowing blue swords made of energy. Each sword can hit a creature of your choice that you can see within range. The swords can all strike simultaneously or individually. You can direct each sword to hit one creature or several.

A sword is used as a ranged weapon and deals 1d6 + 5 piercing damage to its target. Make a ranged weapon attack against a creature within 30 feet.

Level 3 

Dimensional Severance: As an action Twice every Long rest every enemy within 30 ft of you must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 21) on a failure they take 10d12 force damage.

Level 4 

Doppelgänger: You create a duplicate of yourself made of magical force in a space within 5 feet of you that lasts for the duration of the fight then automatically dissipates. 

The duplicate cannot cast spells or trigger items with spells (such as scrolls or staves) but it can benefit from spells and magical effects that you are under at the time of casting. 

The duplicate has your hit points, AC, saving throws and any class features you possess aside from spellcasting. If you have any magic items on your person then these are also duplicated, however they only gain the benefits of items that grant bonuses such as a magic weapon with a +1 bonus and no other effects. 

 When the duplicate makes a melee or ranged attack it uses your strength or dexterity modifier on the attack and damage roll.

 

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
