Syntro Spoudon, known colloquially as Thorn’s Fly, is a tiny mechanical fly that, when inactive, rests inside of a glass vial the size of an average human's pinky finger. It is powered by silence (the quieter it is, the better it works).

It can be used once per long rest for up to an hour. During this time, it will scan the contents of books for a word to help its researcher narrow their search. When activated in absolute silence the Syntro Spoudon provides +10 to an INVESTIGATION roll relating to researching the contents of a book. The bonus decreases relative to the amount of noise in the area. The Syntro Spoudon can be used once per long rest.
