Weapon (scimitar), unknown rarity (requires attunement)

A somewhat short and strangely shaped cutlass that used to belong to a legendary sailor whose grave now lies at the bottom of the sea. The cutlass often finds its way into the hands of equally ambitious sailors and can spell great fortune for some, or a terrible omen for others.

The cutlass grants the following benefits while you are attuned to it:

  • You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
  • The cutlass has the thrown property with a normal range of 20 feet and a long range of 60 feet.  Immediately after you make a ranged attack with this weapon, it flies back to your hand.
  • At 5th level, you can use your action to speak the cutlass's command word and cast the tidal wave spell (DC 15). The spell gains more power depending on how strong you are. When you use this feature, the spell is cast at a level equal to half of your level (rounded up) to a maximum of a 9th level spell. Once this feature is used, It cannot be used again until the next dawn.

Curse: The sword is linked to the mind of the offspring of its original owner. Once you are attuned to the cutlass they will know where you are and will stop at nothing until they hunt you down and take it back.

Proficiency with a Scimitar allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Nick. When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
