A massive ancient tome, infused with powerful magic. The tome appears as a crimson red book with gold gilding and 2 chains locking it shut. The book has a gold trim and a moonstone inset with a black spinel inlay in the shape of a rune of knowledge.

The pages are made from parchment with arcane runes. When activated the moonstone shimmers and the black spinel glows gold, the holder experiences everything fade to black before feeling as if they're falling plunge beneath freezing water. You will see animated images pass and voices, with a growing sensation of coldness, crushing pressure and distortion, with the images flashing past to quickly to see. 

On passing a DC 12 intelligence check you can recall information seen equal to a percentile check (minimum of 1%) to see the amount of things seen to be retained. Can make a history checks to recall all knowledge about something, with advantage.
