Wondrous Item, very rare

"The Tilkidee spirts of Dolein'Duril are quite special. They are incredibly altruistic creatures with astounding anti-magic capabilities. They can redirect the focus of a magical spell onto themselves in order to protect even a complete stranger. When captured and 'conditioned', they bestow these effects onto those that wear them almost all of the time. I wonder if they can be combined for an even greater range of protection..."

            - The Unknown Scholar, Head of The Magic Tripiece in The Arkhollow Academy.

A mundane necklace with a small flask holding an even smaller, protective Tilkidee spirit.

Whenever the wearer is targeted by unwanted magics that require a saving throw, such as scrying, detect thoughts, charm person, etc, the wearer can choose to roll 1d4:

1d4 Effect
1 The spell takes effect as normal.
2 The spell takes effect but the Tilkidee absorbs its effects slightly, giving a +5 to the wearer on the spell's DC save.
3 The spell takes effect but the Tilkidee absorbs its effects greatly, giving a +10 to the wearer on the spell's DC save.
4 The spell's effects do not affect you.

The Tilkidee is a living creature and thus needs feeding and looking after. Every day, the spirit must be fed with a pinch of mushed or powdered sweet fruits. If this simple requirement isn't met, their protective magics fail and may eventually die.

Tilkidee spirits can only take so much magic, When it has successfully resisted 10 levels of magic, the spirit cannot resist safely. If it resists any more spells, you must roll another 1d4. 3 or less results in the Tilkadee's death, rendering the necklace non-magical. The Tilkidee recovers its resistance after a long rest.

Despite not being able to talk back, it is known that Tilkidees enjoy conversation.
