Tidal, along with five other mythical weapons, was created during the first age by Lovar, the Creator. These weapons were designed to be used by champions of great power to thwart Hadar, the dark God of death and destruction. Each weapon was sealed away in hidden citadels of power throughout Zeron, with Tidal being placed in the citadel of water on the tropical island of Mintauro. Legends say that in order to wield such a weapon, one had to overcome their darkest selves, although the exact details were somewhat hazy. Tidal has only ever had one wielder: The legendary paladin Bron Stormwind, a champion of the age of the comet. He, along with five other champions, fulfilled their purpose in sealing away the dark God and mysteriously disappeared shortly after, never to be seen again.
