Originally The Tinkertop Bolt Blaster 1000 is a prototype crossbow invented by Cleff Tinkertop of the city of Hupperdook. It was given to Nott as a reward for the Mighty Nein's aid in defeating the Gear Warden.

Though the item given to Nott was technically one of a kind at the time. Tinkertop made a few more to sell. Forgot to fix the bug with it though.

Appearance

The Tinkertop Bolt Blaster 1000 is a hand-cranked crossbow and is a combination of gnomish clockwork and some unknown magic. It has a number of functions, and given the history of its creator, Cleff Tinkertop, and the weapon's prototypical nature, it has the possibility for catastrophic failure.

Properties

The Tinkertop Bolt Blaster 1000 is a +1 crossbow, with:

  • +1 to attack and damage rolls.
  • On a natural 20, immediately fires a second bolt. If this bolt also scores a natural 20, it doesn't fire a third bolt.
  • On a natural 1, the blaster misfires a bolt in the direction of the user, dealing 1d6 piercing damage.

Proficiency with a Hand Crossbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
