Xa Pherst's Battleaxe is a beautiful specimen of Dragonborn craftmanship. The haft is made of dragonbone while the doublebited head is heavily engraved with scenes out of Dragonborn history (most prominent are the engravings depicting the clan's founder (Xa) leading a revolt against her tyranical black dragon overlord). One side of the battleaxe features the black dragon rampant and the other it's corpse (along with engravings added by past wielders).
This +1 magical battleaxe warns you of danger. While the weapon is on your person, you have advantage on initiative rolls. In addition, you and any of your companions within 30 feet of you can’t be surprised, except when Incapacitated by something other than nonmagical sleep. The weapon magically awakens you and your companions within range with the roar of a black dragon if any of you are sleeping naturally when combat begins.
Xa Pherst's Battleaxe is a +1 weapon that allows the attunement of one additional item.
Proficiency with a Battleaxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.
