The Yaradyill dagger was standard issue equipment due in the times of CEO Rufas Forgan. A tool used to undermine those who used magic, to show the scientific superiority of the forgan family and the masterful engineering of forgan energy company.
Background
The Forgan Energy Company hates magic, and hates mages. Hates mages so much that mages were pretty much turned into living batteries to power the city of yarsdiril in the past. The problem with this came, that in a lot of situations, outside of truly extraordinary warriors, magic users vs material warriors was a losing matchup. This lead in the early fifth age, Rufus Forgan telling his R&D team for Forgan energy to come up with something that could possibly help them even the field.
Enter Dwafen Scientist Garius Naoun. Garius had lost his family to a group of rouge mages in the past, which let him throw himself into the project like a maniac. With this, He made a huge scientific breakthrough, That by harnessing unstable magic that permitted plora atmosphere due to the clash of the titans all the way in the first age, If it could be theoretically harnessed to disrupt most complete magic due to their chaotic compound. With this, using connections on the black market, The Forgan family managed to receive a shipment of rock from cthulu Peak, that was then used to create, the first GN Crystal, a crystal that absorbed the unstable magic in the air, and threw usages of multiple runes, gating marks and something that forgan Energy called a converter. It causes the Dagger to glow with a Light purple as it draws in the unstable magic. After numerous field tests, and finding out away to create the GN Cyrstal without having access to the rock from Cthulu peak. The Yaradyill dagger anti magic variant became standard issues for many soldiers sent on mage hunting missions and patroling the second sector
With the mages rights acts being passed at the start of the sixth age in yaradryill, Ownership of these daggers became illegal as well as the study of GN Particles within the area of yarsadrill, however, it is said that on a black market, the magehunters strongest ally is still extremely easy to find.
Appearance
This Dagger is made of what appears to be a pure white metal, shining almost unnaturally, it catches the light extremely easily. The dagger has grooves carved into it with dark turquoise metal fragments in each, making it a more brutal weapon than most standard issue equipment of PMC organisations The dagger handle has a very slight blue colouring to the metal. This metal is extremely cold to the touch. Towards the top of the dagger, there is a trigger connecting to something embedded in the hilt, pressing this in causes the blue metal in the grooves to explode into a light purple energy coating the dagger in a light purple as the unstable magic particles in the air are absorbed into it.
Features
The Yaradryill Dagger Has 2 Charges per long rest. By clicking the Trigger and activating the GN Crystals in the Dagger, you burn one of these charges and the charge lasts for 1 minute. The Dagger Regains these Charges by being left outside, soaking up all the wild and untamed magic in plora atmosphere.
When Activated, The Dagger glows an unnatural purple and gains these features
- If A Yaradryill Dagger hits a magical barrier or shield, (Eg a shield spell or magical shield), The target must make a concentration saving throw, if they fail, the magical defence is dispatched (Eg the shield spell is finished early or the magical shield loses its magical properties for 1d4 days). If somebody uses a magical defensive as a reaction, It is destroyed imminently by a GN Saber.
- If a Yarsadryill dagger hits a magic user, When casting a spell from that point onwards, the magic user must roll 1d100, on a 30 or under, the spell fails and the spell slot is lost. On a 20 or Under, the spell backfires and the user takes the effects meant for the target
- When Throwing the Dagger and if you still have up to 10 ft of movement left, you can take evasive action while throwing these daggers for free, either flipping 10ft to the left, to the right, backwards or forwards, if you move backwards or Sideways, All attacks against you have disadvantage until the start of your next turn, if you go forward, you can advantage on any possible attack of opportunity that could happen.
