The Light of Maretha is the goddess Maretha’s sacred artifact. As Maretha is long dead; the Light is far weaker than it once was but still remains a powerful magical item. It is a small clear gem that casts light upon any written words in sight. The bearer of the light can read any written language as it translates in real time. The person who attunes to it gains the following benefits.

• Ability to comprehend, and produce any common language, including ancient languages, but not the private notes of a wizard, or a secret society’s cant. 
• Once per day, the person attuned to the Light of Maretha can cast True Seeing.
• While attuned to the Light, the player gains proficiency in any one of Persuasion, Deception, Intimidation, or Insight.
• The ability to cast Light as a cantrip using Wisdom as the casting stat.
• The ability to cast Daylight once per day, using Wisdom as the casting stat. In this case, the spell’s effects last only for a minute.

Destroying the Argent Blade. The Light is relatively benign but if someone did want to destroy it; they would have to bathe the Light in the blood of a living Dragon. It will disintegrate after two hours of bathing.
