Rules of Magic Monsters
Beginning of the game:
- Each player starts with a deck of 20 cards and one special card.
- Each player draws 6 cards and their special card at the beginning of the game.
- Players draw a card at the beginning of their turn. This excludes the first player on their first turn.
- Each player gets three legendary resistances.
Playing the game:
- Players play cards on their turn as a free action.
- Players can only play one Monster Card a turn.
- Players can play up to two Magic Cards in a turn.
- Any card can be played face down. Face-down cards can be played on a later turn using the player's reaction.
Ending the game:
- Victory is achieved when one player dies.
Advanced Rules:
- When a player plays a card that summons a creature it is summoned within a 30 ft. radius of the player.
- When a player plays a card that casts a spell it uses the player's spellcasting ability.
- Spells cast with cards do not require concentration and last until the end of the game.
- Spells cast with cards are upcast to level 4.
- Cards without names cannot be played.
