This lute is crafted from a polished piece of driftwood and features strings woven from the finest seaweed. When played, the lute produces a hauntingly beautiful melody that echoes through the air.
While holding the lute, you gain a +1 bonus to spell attack rolls and spell save DCs for spells you cast that deal cold or lightning damage. Once per long rest, you can use an action to cast the spell Tidal Wave (as per the spell description in the Player's Handbook) from the lute. When you cast Tidal Wave in this way, it does not require concentration.
When you attune to this lute, you gain the ability to call forth a small wave to aid you in combat. Once per day, as a bonus action, you can expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration to activate this ability. When you do so, you call forth a wave that crashes over your enemies, dealing 2d8 bludgeoning damage and knocking creatures within 15ft. of you prone. Creatures that succeed on a DC 12 Strength saving throw take half damage and are not knocked prone. The wave also extinguishes non-magical flames within the same area.
