Weapon (greatsword), legendary (requires attunement by a Barbarian)

When the wielder sleeps after killing. Roll a DC 14 Wisdom Save, on a failure a Rage is spent for the next day.

When a creature is killed while raging with the ax, roll a Wisdom Saving Throw, DC10+CR rating, rounded down. On a failure you immediately use your reaction, and any remaining movent, to strike the nearest creature (friend or ally.)

You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. In addition, while you are attuned to this weapon, your hit point maximum increases by 1 for each level you have attained.

In it's final state Thorncleaver feels light as a feather. As apart of your Attacks you may throw Thorncleaver, the range being 15ft/25ft, with it returning to your hand immediately. If an additional target is in the path of return, Thorncleaver deals d6 slashing to the target in the path of return.

Chaos Surge

When you rage, roll a d4.

  1. Chaos of the Scorched Wind. Hot, arid wind swirls around your body. All creatures Large or smaller, within 15 feet of you are pulled within 5 feet. Until the beginning of your next turn, the space within 15 feet of you, including yourself, is considered difficult terrain.
  2. Chaos of the Abyss. Red spikes explode from the ground in a 10 foot square that you can see within 60 feet. Any creature within the space when the spikes appear takes 2d8 Piercing Damage and the square counts as difficult terrain.
  3. Chaos of the Hunt. A demonic beast flows from your body and marks one random creature (this includes allies) you can see within 60 feet. You have advantage on attack rolls against this creature until the beginning of your next turn.
  4. Chaos of the Soul. Your visage turns into the shade of a demonic beast. One random creature (this includes allies) within 20 feet of you must make a Wisdom Saving throw, DC 14 or become Frightened of you until the beginning of your next turn.

When a creature you can see hits you with an attack or spell while you are wielding the ax, you can use your reaction to expel necrotic magic equal to half the amount of damage you received from the attack or spell. You may use this ability once per day and recharge at dawn.

As an action you can summon demonic wings and have a fly speed of 30feet for 1 minute. Can be used once per day.

A barbarian receives one additional rage per day.

Your strength score becomes 22.

This ax was wielded by Liendil Orcfoe in the service of the Citadel Felbarr. It's origins are unknown.
