This weapon gives a +1 to your attack roll.
This exquisitely crafted longbow is imbued with a unique enchantment that allows its wielder to pierce through most forms of cover with unparalleled accuracy. However, this power comes at a price, as the bow roots the user to the ground while drawing and firing, requiring a deliberate action to free oneself.
Effect:
-
Piercing Shot: When wielding Yaldaboth, your attacks treat targets with at least three-quarters cover as if it has no cover for the purpose of this attack. This allows you to shoot through obstacles that would typically provide a substantial defensive bonus. This weapon also has no lower range, so you can shoot from close range without disadvantage.
-
Rooted Stance: When you attack with Yaldaboth, you are rooted to the spot and cannot move until the end of your turn, even if you have movement remaining. You also have disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws against effects that would move you or knock you prone while in this rooted stance.
-
Unrooting Action: To free yourself from the rooted stance imposed by Yaldaboth, you must use an action on a subsequent turn. This action can be used to unroot yourself, allowing you to move freely again. Until you do so, you remain stationary.
-
Attunement: The first person to accept Yaldaboth's conditions becomes attuned to the weapon. Attunement lasts until the user dies or until removed by magical means.
- Intimidating Presence: You gain the Thaumaturgy cantrip.
Proficiency with a Longbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
