This beautifully crafted sword has a hilt adorned with swirling patterns reminiscent of crashing waves. Its blade shimmers with a faint blue glow, hinting at its power.
You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this sword. In addition, the Tidalblade has the following properties:
Aquatic Strikes: As a bonus action, you can speak the sword's command word to activate it, causing it to shed a faint blue essence that smells like ocean waves. When the weapon is activated, and you hit a creature with this sword, it deals an additional 1d8 cold damage. The blue essence lasts until you use a bonus action to speak the command word again or until you drop or sheathe the sword.
Freedom of the Waves: The Tidalblade holds the essence of the "Freedom of the Waves" spell. Once per dawn, as an action, you can channel its power. You conjure a deluge of seawater in a 15-foot-radius, 10-foot-tall cylinder centered on a point within 60 feet of you. This water takes the form of a tidal wave, a whirlpool, a waterspout, or another form of your choice. Each creature in the area must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or take 2d8 bludgeoning damage and fall prone. You can choose a number of creatures equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum of 1) to automatically succeed on this saving throw. On a successful save, creatures caught within the deluge are unaffected and take no damage.
Furthermore, if you are within the spell's area when you use the Freedom of the Waves ability as part of the action, you can vanish into the deluge and teleport to an unoccupied space that you can see within the spell's area. This teleportation occurs instantly and does not provoke opportunity attacks.
