This glaive of dark metal ripples with waves of purple and red.
While xagji is in a dormant state, you gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
Additionally, when you hit a creature with this weapon, the target must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or gain one level of exhaustion. A creature that is killed by this weapon from gaining a sixth level of exhaustion has its body and everything it is wearing and carrying, except magic items, explode into a cloud of ash and it soul is consumed by the glaive. The creature can be restored to life only by means of a wish spell.
Lastly, attuning to this weapon allows you to speak, read, and write Deep Speech.
Curse. This glaive is cursed and possessed by Hunger, a Child of Tharizdun. Becoming attuned to it extends the curse to you. As long as you remain cursed, you are unwilling to part with the glaive, keeping it on your person at all times. While attuned to this weapon, you have disadvantage on attack rolls made with weapons other than this one
Sentience. Xagji is a sentient chaotic evil weapon with an Intelligence of 15, a Wisdom of 13, and a Charisma of 16. It has hearing and darkvision out to a range of 120 feet. The weapon communicates telepathically with its wielder and can speak, read, and understand Deep Speech.
Personality. The glaive’s purpose is to devour the souls of creatures it faces, to sate its never ending hunger. If the glaive does not consume a soul every seven days, the creature attuned to the glaive must make a DC 15 Charisma saving throw. On a successful save, the wielder take 3d6 psychic damage. On a failed save, the wielder is dominated by the glaive, as if by the dominate monster spell, and the glaive demands that a soul is consumed. The spell effect ends when the sword’s demand is met.
The glaive also hopes to break the chains that hold back its master, Tharizdun. A creature who is attuned to the glaive must make a DC 15 Charisma saving throw whenever it would take an action that would prevent the freeing of Tharizdun. On a failure the creature takes 8d6 psychic damage, or half as much damage on a successful one. It repeats this saving throw every round, taking damage each time, until it stops attempting to halt the freeing of Tharizdun.
Destroying the Glaive. This weapon can only be destroyed by use of the wish spell. The creature must cast the wish spell and make a Charisma check contested by the Charisma check of the glaive. The glaive must be within 30 feet of the creature, or the spell fails. If the glaive wins the contest, nothing happens, and the wish spell is wasted. If the glaive loses the contest, it is destroyed.
Proficiency with a Glaive allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.
Notes: Bonus: Magic, Cursed, Heavy, Reach, Two-Handed, Graze
