A longsword made for Novak, the progenitor of the Nemea family. Vow and its sister sword, Oath, represent his will to reclaim his family and bring them to prosper. The swords are simple in their effects, but powerful all the same. Forged from dragonbone and adamantine and consecrated beneath the setting sun, their effects follow:
- You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon, and -due to its size- it deals 2d8(2d10) slashing damage on a hit, rather than the 1d8(1d10) typical of a longsword made for a medium-sized creature. As the sword is a large-sized weapon, you have disadvantage on attacks with it if you are medium -barring some outside effect or ability.
- You deal double damage to objects and structures with this weapon, and damage you deal using this sword ignores the resistances of aberrations, fiends, and undead, and treats their immunities as resistances.
- While you are attuned to the Vow of Valor, you know the direction, condition, and emotional state of the creature attuned to The Ward's Oath. If you do not share a plane with the creature, you instead only know the direction to the nearest open connection to the plane they are on.
Sword of the Protector. While holding the Vow of Valor you can cast the spell Scrying thrice per long rest, and the spell Forbiddance once per long rest. When Scrying is cast, you may only target The Ward's Oath, and the saving throw is bypassed. When the Forbiddance is cast, the sword must be placed into the ground point first, and the spell continues until the sword is removed -instead of being limited to a day.
Due to their remarkably resistant materials and blessed nature, both the Vow of Valor and The Ward's Oath are nigh indestructible.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
Notes: Bonus: Magic, Damage: Slashing, creature of the Nemea bloodline, Versatile, Sap
