Potion, common

Designed by the Magic Gnome Candymaker Tika Grunbletank, this magic item comes in a small wax paper packet. Each paper packet contains four pieces of gum. Each packet bears the following inscription:

Tika's Confounding Chewing Gum

An airy confection for all ages!

Maker not responsible for falls and breaks due to consumer negligence.

The inscription is written in the Common language and Gnomish.

A single piece of the gum resembles a yellow cylinder of wax.  Each pack comes in 4 flavors. Licorice, Cinnamon, Clove, and Peppermint.

(The DM or user can roll 1d4 to determine which of the four flavors they get.)

When chewed for at least one minute, the gums powers are activated, and the consumer gains the following abilities:

Their body weight is negated. Basically, they are rendered weightless for the gum spells duration.

This allows them to leap or hop great distances. (6 times their Strength ability score in feet)

i.e., If the characters strength is 10, they can jump 60 feet.

This distance can be straight up, at an angle, or horizontally across.

Each piece of gums magic power lasts for 1d4 minutes then the users normal weight returns.

(NOTE. The DM should make a secret roll to determine exactly how long the spell effect lasts)

Additionally, the magic of the gum does not counter any additional weight the player is carrying.

i.e. they cannot pick up a stack of gold bricks and jump away thinking the gold bricks will suddenly also be weightless.

The player has control of the distance and height they jump on a successful Dexterity ability check. (DC 10)

The player may also attempt to control their spin, and change course or angle. This is done with a successful Acrobatics skill check (DC 12)

NOTE.  It is possible to be quite high in mid jump when the players weight returns. Normal fall damage should then be applied. (1d6 points of bludgeoning damage per 10 feet falling)

An additional piece of gum may be consumed to regain the magic weightlessness. But the consumer must have been chewing it for at least 1 minute for the magic to take effect.
