Weapon (rapier), rare (requires attunement)

Each of these rapiers is a counterpart to the other. The blade of one shines with brilliant white metal while the other is made out of jet black iron. These blades are also inseparable, as a free action while holding one these rapiers you may summon the other to your hand assuming you aren't holding anything in your other hand. Additionally when you attune or unattuned to one of these blades you automatically attune to the other with no extra attunement slot required.

You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with these magic weapons.

Yin. When you hit a creature with this weapon you may cast inflict wounds on that creature as part of that attack. Once you use this ability you can't use it again until dusk or until you roll a 20 on your attack roll with Yang. Additionally when you roll a 20 on your attack roll with this weapon you deal an additional 1d8 necrotic damage, this damage is not doubled if the attack is a critical hit.

Yang. When you hit a creature with this weapon you may cast cure wounds on yourself as part of that attack. Once you use this ability you can't use it again until dawn or until you roll a 20 on your attack roll with Yin. Additionally when you roll a 20 on your attack roll with this weapon you deal an additional 1d8 radiant damage, this damage is not doubled if the attack is a critical hit.

Proficiency with a Rapier allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
