Armor (shield), rare (requires attunement by a creature with the Defense Fighting Style)

While holding this shield, you have a +1 bonus to AC. This bonus is in addition to the shield's normal bonus to AC.

Thundersnow is a large teardrop shaped shield, covered in crystalline dragon scales with teeth and claws from dragon wyrmlings extruding from the edges.  These scales can be magically swapped between White and Blue dragons' scales,  causing the colour of them to change between snow white and azure blue.

While holding this shield, you benefit from the following properties:

Scale Adaptation. You can use your bonus action to switch between Cold and Lightning damage resistance.  You only benefit from this resistance if you can see the origin of the attack.

Crystal Bulwark.  You can use your Action to create a magical force field around you which confers three quarters cover (+5 to AC against ranged attacks, +5 to Dexterity saving throws) to yourself and any allies within 5 feet of you.  Making ranged attacks from within or through the force field confers disadvantage on the attack roll.  Any allies within the force field also gain the current resistance type of the shield.  While inside the force field you do not need to see the origin of an attack to have the damage resistance.  The force field lasts until your next turn, and you cannot move or take bonus actions or typical reactions while it is applied.  If you are forced to move the force field is dissipated.
Special: If an enemy enters the force field, you can use your reaction to deal 1d4+WIS damage of the currently selected resistance type.

Tooth and Claw.  When you take the Attack while you have Thundersnow equipped, you can use your bonus action to make an attack with the teeth and claws on the edge of the shield for 1d4+STR damage. Proficiency with shields allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
