This magical item has the ability to reshape another creature's memories. When used, the wand is placed against the creature's temple and they have to make a Wisdom saving throw (DC15). Should the creature succeed, nothing occurs and they will know they have been subjected to being overpowered. But if they fail, they become charmed and their minds can be altered to the wielder's whim (Examples - Their memories are wiped from them, false memories are made in place of old ones, forgetting themselves entirely.)
The control over said creature is only broken with a remove curse or restoration spell cast on the target, restoring the creature's true memory. Or when the altered memory is provoked, be that with a key moment spoken in a conversation, a person who was from the memory challenges the false memory, an item presented to them, etc.
Once the wand has been attuned to the user, at the beginning of the day a D20 has to be rolled to see if the wand is functional, this can only be tried once a day:
- 20, the wand can be used twice on that one day - resetting at the beginning of a new day.
- 15 to 19, the wand can be used once on that day - resetting at the beginning of a new day.
- 2 to 14, the wand is unusable but is still intact - able to be used again another day, resetting at the beginning of a new day.
- 1, the wand crackles and breaks in the hand of the wielder before turning to ash - never to be used again.
