An flat orange jester's cap with a black diamond pattern. The front of the cap has a skull-like ornament with two small prongs on the top that look similar to rabbit ears. This hat is fabled to have been worn by a famous trapeze artist who was known to carry impossibly heavy objects while doing death-defying feats of acrobatics.
Normally this hat appears a simple jester's cap. While wearing this hat you can use either a reaction or a bonus action to activate it and gain the following benefits:
- You have advantage on Strength (Athletics) and Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks. If the player succeeds a skill check because of the advantage, the hat takes 1d4 damage.
- Opponents have disadvantage on Attacks against you. If the opponent misses because of disadvantage, you take half damage instead.
- The hat can attack with a long-ranged fist-like strike. This attack has the Reach property and deals 1d6 Bludgeoning damage. You are considered proficient with this attack, and may use your Dexterity or Strength modifier to make the attack roll.
When activated the hat gains who large muscular arm-like growths, and the prongs on the skull ornament grow in size to look similar to horns or antlers. In addition the eyes of the skull now react to convey emotion similarly to a face. You may deactivate the hat as a bonus action at any time.
The hat has health equal to 5 times your character level. Whenever you take damage while the hat is active it also takes damage equal to the damage you took. When its hitpoints reach zero it will deactivate and become unusable until the player completes a short or long rest.
The hat is a sentient object capable of its own thoughts. It is unable to speak by conventional means but may speak telepathically if one has the means to do so. It can choose to act on its own accord but will usually work to defend its owner unless it has been abused and mistreated.
