This unique whip is made from braided grass from the Feywild. It was made there as a joke by an eladrin adventurer before being abandoned. Another adventurer rediscovered it later and brought it to the Prime Material Plane. It has the following properties:
- You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
- This whip has a range of 15 feet, rather than 10. While holding the whip, you can use an object interaction to magically shorten or lengthen the whip to change its range to your choice of 5, 10, or 15 feet.
- When you take the Attack action using this whip, you can make one additional attack with it as a bonus action.
- While holding the whip's handle, you can use an action to speak a command word to cause the whip to magically extend up to 20 feet and attempt to ensnare a Huge or smaller creature you can see within 30 feet of you. The creature must succeed a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, the creature takes 1d4+2 slashing damage and is restrained by the whip as long as you hold the other end. You can release the creature by dropping the whip or by using a bonus action to speak a second command word. A target restrained by the whip can use an action to make a DC 15 Strength or Dexterity check (target’s choice). On a success, the creature is no longer restrained by the whip. After the whip has restrained a creature, you can’t use this property again until you finish a short rest.
Proficiency with a Whip allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
Notes: Bonus: Magic, Weapon Property: Range, Restrained, Damage, Combat, Finesse, Reach, Slow
