Weapon (shortsword), rare (requires attunement)

Thunderous Tempo consists of two shortswords and six metal cymbals floating around you, and It can’t be wielded separately. When you hit a creature with one of the shortswords, the metal ball at the tip resonates, dealing an additional 1d4 thunder damage.

Thunderstruck. The floating cymbals act as a protective barrier. When a creature hits you with a melee attack, you can move the cymbals as a reaction, making a chance they might strike one of the cymbals instead. Roll a d6; on a roll of 5 or 6, the attacking creature hits a cymbal instead of you. When struck, the cymbal releases a thunderwave spell (spell save DC 15). Each time a cymbal is struck, it gains 1 charge of electricity, up to a maximum of 6 charges.

Bouncing Beat. If you make two successful attacks with the shortswords in one turn, you can use your bonus action to strike one of the cymbals, activating the Thunderstruck feature without needing an enemy to hit it.

Blitz Beat. When you have gathered 6 charges, as an action, you can release the stored electrical energy from the cymbals in a straight line, 5 feet wide and 60 feet long. Each creature in the line must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 8d6 lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The lightning ignites flammable objects in the area that aren't being worn or carried. Using this feature expends all accumulated charges. After releasing the charges, the cymbals cannot be charged again until the next dawn. Additionally, after using Blitz Beat, the cymbals become inert for 1 minute, during which time they can't be used to intercept attacks

Proficiency with a Shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
