Before the rise of intelligent races in the North, the monstrous Yeti were the dominant predators of the region. As other, more advanced, beings moved into the area, the aggressive Yeti were eventually hunted to near extinction. Today, the Yeti are a boogeyman; a rarely-seen terror from older times, emerging from the deepest blizzards to carry away any warm-blooded creatures they can find.   

However, the Yeti did have one purpose; many garments were made from their thick, shaggy hides, to better allow their slayers to endure the wind and the snow. This scarf is a little tattered and worse-for-wear, but it's greyish-white fur still carries some of the Yeti's famous immunity from the cold.
