A gift bestowed upon Khalfani when he came of age. Though an instrument exceedingly simple in nature, mainly used in the various ceremonies that decorated the Khesuraei calendar, it produces a variety of wonderful and unexpected sounds when accompanied with the lilt of his singing.
A 6 bells sistrum is a musical instrument of the percussion family, chiefly associated with ancient Egypt. It consists of a handle and a U-shaped metal frame, made of brass or bronze and between 30 and 76 cm in width. When shaken, the small bells on its movable crossbars produce a sound that can be from a soft jangling to loud peals. Its name in the ancient Egyptian language was sekhem (sḫm) and sesheshet (sššt). In the right hands, it can be used as an uncommonly powerful spellcasting focus.
