You can use a bonus action to speak this magic sword's command word, causing ghostly green flame to erupt from the blade. These ghostly flames illuminate nothing. While the sword is ablaze, it deals an extra 2d6 necrotic damage to any target it hits. The flames last until you use a bonus action to speak the command word again or until you drop or sheathe the sword.

While you are attuned to this sword you can use an action to mentally command it to detect undead creatures. You learn the kind and number of such creatures within 60 feet of the sword.

Finesse. 

When making an attack with a finesse weapon, you use your choice of your Strength or Dexterity modifier for the attack and damage rolls. You must use the same modifier for both rolls.

 
Light. 

A light weapon is small and easy to handle, making it ideal for use when fighting with two weapons.

 
 

Proficiency with a Shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
