Weapon (whip), rare (requires attunement by a By Winston)

A whip crafted by the Earth Genasi Lazuli, ordered by and made from the hide of the Yuan-ti Abomination Jack Coral for his friend, Winston.

Exotic Material: You deal an additional 3d6 poison damage and the target must make a Constitution Saving throw or become poisoned.

Proficiency Unlocks:
You have mastered the art of the whip and can perform maneuvers most others cannot. You gain the following special attacks manoeuvres:
Lashing Grip: You can make a grapple check against an opponent using your whip provided they are within the reach of your whip.
— A whip can only grapple a single creature at a time. A creature grappled by your whip is restrained until the grapple ends. You cannot make any additional attacks with this weapon until the grapple ends.
Reel In: You can use a bonus action to drag a creature grappled by your whip towards you. To do so, make an additional grapple check. If you succeed, the creature is dragged 5 ft. towards you.
Trip Up: You can use your opportunity attack reaction to use your whip to trip a creature trying to leave yours or an ally’s melee range (provided your ally is within 5 feet of you). To do so, make a grapple check. If you succeed, the creature is knocked prone.

Proficiency with a Whip allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
