Weapon (rapier), artifact (requires attunement)

This elegant needle of twisting silver is cold to the touch. It is as though a dim patina shrouds a once brighter countenance, whatever purity that was once given in this weapon is gone. All that remains is the ice of treachery. This accursed +3 rapier has the following properties:

Curse of the Whispering Sword: Whenever you take damage, you take an additional 1d8 psychic damage, as cold whispers echo through your mind.

"Pathetic": This weapon deals an additional 1d8 cold damage. This damage increases to 2d8 if you are hidden from the target. 

"Truly Weak": As long as you are hidden, this sword scores a critical hit on a 19 or 20. 

Stark Ichor: Whenever you score a critical hit with this weapon, you may force that creature to make a Constitution Saving Throw (DC18), on a failed save, the creature's speed is reduced to 0 and it cannot take reactions until the start of your next turn. If the creature fails this save by 5 or more, they are reduced to 0 hit points as black ice fully incases their body. 

Proficiency with a Rapier allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
