This sinister scythe is forged from shadowy metal, its blade adorned with ghastly etchings. When swung, it leaves behind trails of spectral glow.
-
Wraith's Touch: The Wraithbane deals an additional 1d8 radiant damage on a successful hit. Against undead creatures, this extra damage increases to 2d8.
-
Spectral Strike: Once per long rest, you can channel the weapon's latent energy to make a melee attack against a creature. You must declare that you are using this ability prior to the roll. On a successful hit, in addition to regular damage, the target must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or have its hit point maximum reduced by an amount equal to the total radiant damage dealt on your turn. This reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. If a creature's hit point maximum is reduced to 0 in this way, it dies.
-
Ethereal Presence: While wielding the Wraithbane, you have advantage on saving throws against being frightened or charmed by undead creatures.
-
Shadowstep: As a bonus action, you can use the scythe's power to briefly step into the ethereal plane. For the next minute, you gain the ability to move through solid objects, and you gain resistance to non-magical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
-
Haunt's Ruin: Wraithbane - A Covenant of Souls. To show mercy to the haunted is to sever your fate from this Blade. If you spare a hostile creature of the undead, you lose attunement to Wraithbane and may never attune to it again.
