This vellum scroll bears many wax seals of authority, and has text written in metallic ink declaring that the bearer of this document is to be unmolested and to be allowed to travel peacefully. The language of the scroll will change to become whatever written language the person holding it can read, and to represent any authority that the reader might respect.
While attuned to this scroll you have several protections. Creatures such as: aberrations, celestials, elementals, fey, fiends, and undead have disadvantage on attack rolls against you. You also can't be charmed, frightened, or possessed by them.
Also any creature who targets you with an attack or a harmful spell must first make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 15). On a failed save, the creature must choose a new target or lose the attack or spell. This spell doesn't protect you from area effects, such as the explosion of a Fireball.
If you make an attack, casts a spell that affects someone in a negative way, or deal damage to another creature, these protections end until after you have taken a long rest.
While under the effect of this item you cannot benefit from the spells Protection from Evil and Good, or Sanctuary.
