This red headband has a coat of arms of the Ker'chak citadal on it: two wings and a clenched fist. Githzerai have created such magical items to better communicate in battle and to use their foes', such as mindflayers', telepathic abilities against them.
While attuned to and wearing this band on your forehead, you can speak telepathically to any creature you can see within 60 feet of you. Your telepathic utterances are in a language you know, and the creature understands you only if it knows that language. Your communication doesn't give the creature the ability to respond to you telepathically.
You can cast the Detect Thoughts spell, requiring no spell slot or components, and you must finish a long rest before you can cast it this way again. Your spellcasting ability for the spell is Wisdom.
In addition, each of your unarmed attacks deals an additional 1d6 + your Wisdom modifier psychic damage to any creature whose thoughts you have read or who has spoken to you telepathically in any way during the preceding 24 hours.
Notes: Damage: Psychic, zerth
