Forged from shadow-infused materials and lined with velvet from the underbelly of a displacer beast, this bolt case resonates with an eerie silence. It is compact enough to be easily accessible while remaining unobtrusive during a Gloomstalker's stealthy maneuvers.

Properties:

Shadow Strike Bolts (3 Charges): The case holds 3 charges and regains all expended charges each day at midnight. When you fire a bolt from this case while it has at least one charge, you can use a bonus action to expend one charge, causing the bolt to become a Shadow Strike Bolt. Upon a successful hit, the Shadow Strike Bolt will attempt to ricochet to a second target within 10 feet of the original target. Make a new attack roll against the second target with the same attack bonus. These special bolts fade into wisps of shadows after hitting or missing their second target.

Vanishing Reload: Once per short rest, when the wielder takes the Attack action to fire a bolt from a hand crossbow while in dim light or darkness, they can use a bonus action to magically silence their presence, granting them the ability to take the Hide action without needing cover or being obscured.

Echo of the Umbra: As a reaction when the wielder is hit by an attack, they can cause their form to blur with shadowy motion, making it difficult for enemies to pinpoint their location. This effect lasts until the end of the wielder's next turn and grants disadvantage on further attack rolls against them. This ability can be used once per long rest.

Silent Mechanism: Reloading the hand crossbow with bolts from this case makes no sound, ensuring the wielder's concealment is not compromised by the noise of their actions.
