Made in the forges of some forgotten place lost to time, Wulfric was made not just to be a weapon, but to be a vessel as well, but for what, no one really knows. The blade is made from refined bloodstone, with runes carved into the hilt of the blade. The blade is sentient, and will communicate with it's wielder in a guttural voice, telling them they want more bloodshed and more death, while also giving them some advice in combat, but in a more condescending way. The blade's alignment is chaotic evil, but it is up to the DM's choice for how they want to go with it.
While wielding the blade, you get a +1 bonus to AC, and a +1 bonus to damage and attack rolls made with Wulfric. In addition, whenever the character/npc gets to a quarter of their health (temporary not included), the player will need to make a Con save of 14 with a d20, or Wulfric will force the player/npc into a berserk-like state, reducing their armor class forcefully by half, but giving a +4 bonus to damage and attack rolls made with Wulfric. This can only be used once per short rest, and after use, all normal bonuses from Wulfric will not be in effect until after the short rest (in a sense, the spirit will need rest before it is able to be used again fully).
If not attuned to Wulfric when using the weapon, the player/npc will have to roll a Str save of 15 with a d20 every time they attack with the weapon, or the blade will force itself from the user's hands and plant itself in the ground for the rest of that round.
Please let me know what I can work with this. It is my first ever making a weapon, and I have always wanted to make a sentient weapon as well. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Proficiency with a Greatsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.
Notes: A requirement to be attuned to this weapon is to a long rest in a battlefield, an arena, or somewhere where there is always bloodshed happening. Once it is attuned to a player/npc, it will stay attuned till either the player/npc dies, or if the blade's spirit gets dissatisfied with how they are doing in battle, with them being required to fight no matter the cost and "bathe in the blood of thy enemies" (in a figurative sense)., Damage, Combat, Container, Sentient, Heavy, Two-Handed, Graze
