Weapon (greatsword), uncommon (requires attunement)

You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

Curse. This sword is cursed and possessed by a vengeful spirit. Becoming attuned to it extends the curse to you. As long as you remain cursed, you are unwilling to part with the sword, keeping it on your person at all times. While attuned to this weapon, you have disadvantage on attack rolls made with weapons other than this one.

In addition, while the sword is on your person, you must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw whenever you take damage in combat. On a failed save, you must attack the creature that damaged you until you drop to 0 hit points or it does, or until you can’t reach the creature to make a melee attack against it.

You can break the curse in the usual ways. Alternatively, casting banishment on the sword forces the vengeful spirit to leave it. The sword then becomes a +1 weapon with no other properties.

Toby Sentience. Toby is a sentient sword with a soul that has found a home in the magical metal that it was fused with.

Toby can speak, read, and understand one or more languages. Hearing and darkvision out to 120 feet. Chaotic evil. Destroyer: Toby craves destruction and goads its user to fight arbitrarily.

Toby Stats. (Treat as NPC)

Charisma (+2), Intimidation (+5)

Wisdom (+1), knows about smithery where it was made. Doesn’t remember it’s life before soul trapped in sword.

Stealth (-1), Toby gets too excited to kill

Proficiency with a Greatsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Toby has somewhat of a split personality: when out of combat it prefers to stay more quiet, almost asleep. However will speak to demand blood for that day, perhaps from a baby. Imagine role playing Emperor Palpatine. When in combat, the sword gets a taste for blood and destruction and acts as if it’s on cocaine. Imagine role playing Gollum that is hungry for blood, laughing maniacally., Damage, Combat, Cursed, Heavy, Two-Handed, Graze
